Ripley Under Ground (Ripley, #2)

This is the worst Ripley book I have read so far. It is the second in the series but truly, it is a sad sequel to the original brilliant The Talented Mr Ripley.
Not only is Ripley a boring individual stuck in a boring part of France with no life, making his character listless and insufferable, but the plot which his subsequent adventure anchored him on is implausible and similarly insufferable and tedious.
I only wonder why I plodded to the end, I guess it was just to hope that there might be some magic at the end, but I was disappointed.

But the story started to go downhill, and after another third, I was thinking this is an awful write!! It had so many characters that seems to think that an admission of murder is an ordinary everyday task like going out for a meal - nobody was aghast, not even the murderer's wife.
And several convoluted not-believable sequence of events and acts made it so tedious to continue. But I did, and it was really time wasted.
