This is only the second novel written by Alan Campbell, who lives in Scotland. The first is a book I own "Scar Night". I found both books to be written in a most interesting fashion. They are complicated sci-fi books which take place in a world where heaven and hell are closer to the people. And Gods of all kinds rule like warlords. Since people...and other beings...live, die and continue to rxist in some other form, it sometimes becomes difficult to follow the story, as well as to understand who are the good guys/gals and who are the bad. We really don't get introduced to the actual Iron Angel until nearly the end of the book, although the angel Dill is a major character throughout both books. The cliffhanger ending of this book sets up for a trilogy.
