This book is a fun, easy to read and fluffy piece of historical fiction. I learned some things from it, and enjoyed reading it. By no means is it a serious piece of literature, but I would definitely recommend it to those who enjoy historical fiction or mystery and crime novels.

Berry, doesn't allow the book to go down some of the predictable and cliched storylines that I kept expecting it to. He also doesn't try and write at a level that is above his ability, which prevents this book from being as cringe-worthy as some of the other novels to which it is compared.
