I liked Heidi's Faith. She tried to always pray each night. Faith is a thing hoped for but not yet seen. For Heidi, this was wanting to go home after being homesick. After a while she stopped praying because she didn't get to go home. I liked how Clara's Grandmama told Heidi that Heavenly Father doesn't always give you what you want when you want it because he has something better for you later on. After her talk with Grandmama she began to pray again, and after a long time was able to go home. And a lot of good things happened after that, that wouldn't have happened had she gone home right away.
She was also able to help her Grandpa start praying again and softening his heart. He was really kind to Heidi.
Heidi was good at thnking about others. Clara's Grandmama asked if there was anything she wanted and she said, "Yes, my big bed from Frankfurt to give to Granny." Granny was really happy because her bed was sloped down at the head instead of up and it had been hard for her to breathe.
