This book is on my seriously funny shelf because the first half made me laugh out loud in the car.
Unfortunately, the book took a turn for the worse and began meandering somewhere in the middle. Eventually it got so complicated and random that after the (weak) climax it took a whole CD just to resolve everything and explain what hat been going on.
Apparently this is part of a series, and that might explain the seemingly unfinished stories and unresolved plot lines. I think this author had so much stuff on the world she created that she couldn't bear to leave any of it out. We get everyone's life story and the full run down on every distant cousin.
How about lose the minute familial detail and get a more coherent plot?
Incidentally the guy reading the book was British and amazing.
