14-year-old Finn is an introvert that would prefer to spend his summer reading a stack of books than socializing. His plans change as he meets, Johanna, a 20-year-old breast cancer patient, that has a desire to make the most out of life. Through her friendship, Finn finds courage, happiness, and self-confidence.

This is a wonderful story with amazing characters. I wonder what a young boy reader would make of the story. Generally they love reading Paulsen because of the adventure survival story. This is a different kind of survival story, one in which might appeal more to girls. Definitely worth a read.
