this book caught my eye because of the financial difficulties i've had over the years and the fact that it seems like such a taboo to discuss. i was curious about the author's personal story but also her discussion of the sociology and psychology of women and money. she made a lot of interesting points about how our upbringing effects our view, but also how our biological urges for comfort inform our relationship with money and in turn our potential partners. and i was pleased, but not suprised that she discussed how often women don't inform themselves enough about their finances, especially when they aren't the breadwinners, the results of which can be the deterioration of our standard of living.
