** spoiler alert ** This book was a great book. Summer of fear was about a girl named Rachel and her cousin Julia. After Julia's parents died in a car crash Rachel's parents takes her in to live with them. In the beginning when Julia moved in she seemed like a sweet, shy and sad little girl and Rachel seems to like her. But later on as the story unfolds Julia’s not so shy anymore, she starts to steal everything that Rachel has, including Rachel's boyfriend and best friend. Julia is ruining Rachel’s life! Everything bad event started to happen to Rachel right after Julia moved in and Rachel is sick of it. Then later on into the story Rachel discovers a big secret about Julia that she is not really who everyone thinks she is, she is not Rachel's cousin but a witch named Sarah...
i learned that sometimes people are not really what they seem; they can have deep dark secrets that can change everything when you find out about it. I can relate to Rachel because like her, I have a cousin who sometimes can ruin my life too, by showing off how smart she and winning awards. Even though I try my hardest, she gets all the attention and I always come in second place. This was a very descriptive and well written book, the details allowed me to paint a picture in my mind while reading. I would recommend this book to anybody who’s looking for a little mystery combined with a horror adventure to read.
