This was a very quick read (which is fine), although I would have been peeved if I had not checked it out from my library and paid brick-n-mortar prices for it.

The story fit nicely with the Battle School era, although I wasn't sure Mr. Card portrayed the characters in quite the same manner. Col. Graff was the only adult referenced and his role would have better suited someone lower on the command structure - like Anderson, perhaps?

I won't give anything away, except to say that Ender's solution seemed a little too tidy for me, although the shortened length may have something to do with that. It was fun to be back in the familiar halls of Battle School and I hope there are more stories that could emerge from such a richly woven setting that don't necessarily have to involve Ender. After all, Battle School was there for quite a while and I'm sure other hyper-intelligent kids who passed through the program would make equally interesting subjects.
