The story of Partition is always different, based on the perspective of the author, but in this novel I think the author does a pretty good job of not being too partial. In the case of this book, the story of the partition of India and Pakistan is told through the story of a few characters - including Sikh, Muslim, and Hindu - while telling a love story, a story of redemption, and giving insight into the hearts, minds, and thought process of those who lived through this horrifying experience.
