The beginning was particularly boring. The way she introduced the characters we already knew was very slow. and not direct (which is not always good. but in this case i think that would have worked better.) In the first book i was very excited to see Susannah again. But little did i know that on the second page she's dead. Which left the two boys very depressed. A little later in the book Jeremiah calls Belly saying Conrad is gone. Belly <1>immediately grabs his book and helps conrad ! wah hoo! (sarcasm) so Jeremiah drives around looking for conrad later realizing that he's at the beach house. They help him with his test and belly's friendship gets better with conrad. And i was thinking that this could so be the scene where it ruins the movie. later it calms down things get less dramatic and more average. then Belly has to go "like" Jeremiah which i think is totally gross cause conrad seems more like a guy to me. Jeremiah is just a friend.. only. at the end belly kisses jeremiah which you can imagine me barfing. Conrad was the kind of person that likes girls. Jeremiah is kind of person that likes girls as a she's just a girl. and then at the way end belly puts her hand on jeremiah's hand... which somehow is a very very big deal. And the next page is says "a couple years later" which is about 7 sentences long. Jenny is trying to sound alot like a poet which is totally fine, but the way she wrote it ... overall i thought it was okay the first one was MUCH better.

I just finished reading it. . . So does belly end up marrying jeremiah? I didn't get it.

i really don't know. i thought she got too confident in her writing and thought it would be fine if she just screwed it up.
If the first one was better, then this book was rotten, cuz the first one was plain crazy in the first place..
