This is an interesting and creatively written mystery. It can feel a bit uneven in the first half as the narrative switches between the investigations of a present day journalist and descriptions/stories of ancient relics and the quest to collect them. Things start to come together in the second half as the narratives converge. It wasn't exactly spellbinding but I was interested enough to see it through and see how the author brought it all together.

There are some instances of salty cop language from one character. There are some non-explicit references to a sexual relationship.
