So unlike anything I've ever read. I'm not Christian and even though I love and respect a lot of people who are, I usually bristle at the name of Jesus for fear that someone is going to try and convert me. That's why I was surprised when I saw this book on the NY Times Bestseller list and even more surprised that I was drawn to read it. It was so unexpected. Every time I thought they (the trinity personified as a carpenter, an effervescent Asian woman, and a big jolly black woman)were going to start proselyting, they did exactly the opposite. I really enjoyed the story, found hope in the notion of a personal God, and recommend this book wholeheartedly.
