This book was recommended to me and I am so glad I read it! It's a great adventure story with a great message in it. Jack Danielson finds out his whole life isn't what he thought it was and soon finds himself on the run. Teaming up with a telepathic dog and shape shifting girl, Jack finds out who he really is and what he's meant to do. I won't say more without giving away the plot, but there's a great environmental message to this novel as well.

It's a fast paced story with short sentences and short chapters; perfect for an older reluctant reader. I can't wait to read the other 2 books in this series.
