A copy of this was loaned to me by my adviser and (then) poet Laureate of West Virginia, Irene McKinney. It was surprisingly good, and not just because I think Irene is the tits. This book really has it all: post-apocalyptic tribalism, political intrigue, the struggle for reason in a world of myth, shamanism, and genital mutilation.

What more could a boy want?
