Tales of the Otherworld (Otherworld Stories, #II)

For those of you who love Kelley Armstrong like I do, I suggest you read this group of shorts/novellas that touch on several series characters and explore the first meeting of Clay and Elena. If you are able, BUY this book (vs. borrow or check it out) because Ms. Armstrong has published Tales ONLY as a charitable endeavor. What a generous lady!
Normally I do not care much for short stories, novellas and anthologies because there is never enough time to bond with the characters. Tales, however, has proved a pleasant exception. As a faithful series reader, I may not have remembered every character but this grouping serves as a reminder while being engaging stories in their own right. By the end I had had my memory tickled and was very satisfied with what I learned about each subject in the book. I will look at Lucas and some of the Cabal guys a little differently now. I have a whole new outlook about Clay and his grumpy personality (except with his adored Elena) and how completely he had to change his life for a mate. I am further impressed by Elena's independent nature, her strength of character and sense of self-preservation as I hear about the first time she told him to take a hike (even while she loved him) when he seemed to exhibit the signs of abusiveness - Clay is so gorgeous and adores her so much that I admit I'd have probably let him slide! Elena doesn't. Yay, Elena!
