** spoiler alert ** This solid mid-trilogy entry focused on Bree and Jake. Bree was returning to Chesapeake Bay with her tail tucked between her legs, a seemingly failed playwright who decides on the spur of the moment to open a flower shop. Jake, who runs a successful nursery, has never gotten over Bree and still mourns not only their failed relationship but the child they miscarried. That failed relationship and their inability to discuss it forms much of the basis of the story which moved a little too slowly. The relationship between Mick and Megan, Bree's parents, on the other hand, moved slowly for good reason. Their love had never died but more than 20 years of trust had been shattered a lifetime ago. You don't rebuild that in a few months. It's a solid series but I didn't warm to Bree right away and they didn't really play out her emotions as much as I would have liked.
