Blue Moon (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #8)

Hmm. This book had just a little too much hocus pocus in it for me. I didn't understand or like the whole munin deal. It seemed Anita was the only one using it or able to use it. What about Richard? Why couldn't he access it to heal everyone? Or Roxanne when whe showed up on the scene? Nope, just Anita. Just an opportunity to use a little loose lust scene. Didn't care for that. The whole Raina thing ruined it for me. All of a sudden she's channeling, not any one of the hundreds of previous powerful munin, but Raina, and she can't control it and becomes like she's possessed by her. Puke.
Also, I'm getting kinda tired of Anita being the be all and end all for everything and everybody. Absolutely no one else can save or help anybody. And Anita is the queen leopard, lupa, animator, necromancer, love of the lives of two alpha superior men, strongest of the triumviant, most respected police consultant, the Executioner, and general superwoman of all. It's just too much. And I'm having trouble with her balance between prude and lust driven female near slut.
The plot was action packed and fast paced. It was almost too full. And thank goodness Richards family recover nearly instantaneously. Phew.
