The Female Quixote

This book is really funny. True, it is an 18th century novel so you'll have to get used to the random capitalization of some words. But really, as I read it, I laughed out loud. At first, the length of the book (more than 400 pages) makes it seems daunting, but it is entertaining and a quick read. The heroine of the novel is Lady Arabella, a young girl with good sense but whose mind has been corrupted by reading too many romances. And the author means romance not in the sense of the modern romance novel but in the sense of the more old fashioned romances which detailed the quests and exploits of heroes and ladies. The only bad thing is that there are a few parts in the middle where it drags a bit but then the end gets wrapped up a little too quicly and neatly. Still, an interesting read.
