If you enjoyed "Fast Food Nation" by Eric Schlosser, you'll probably love this provocative look at our food chain and what industrial agriculture has done to the simple act of eating in this country. It'll make you rethink what "organic" means, and if the new Whole Foods market in your neighborhood is really the godsend you might think it to be. Pollan's first hand experiences on self-sustaining farms and in his attempts to replicate the hunter/gatherer experiences of our ancestors add some color and dimension to and already well-written and entertaining - yet scarily eye-opening - piece of work.
