Danette had warned me this book was frustrating for the first half and boy was it. I wanted to strangle Anna! How many ways could Courtland try to be nice to her and her keep tricking him over and over. Then she FINALLY changes her mind. It was almost too little too late but the ending was very romantic and sweet which made up slightly for the first half, but only slightly. I like a little trepidation, but this was over the top.

I don't know Gigi - you want to throw the book against the wall for about half of it. If you can get past that, you'll enjoy the rest.
I'm not a big fan of this one either. I hated the heroine, and found the hero too one-dimensional.The 2nd book is better, and I loved the third.

Thanks for the info, Yz! I have the three books and I'm in the mood for Highlanders. I should dig them out.
Danette gave it 5 stars - so maybe it was just a bad day for me. I didn't like the 2nd book I finished today either. Is it me or the books?

I only have the 1st book at home. If I read books 2 and 3, they will be library books although from what Yz said, they're better than the first.
Maybe it's neither. Sometimes an author just doesn't do it for me, and I don't think "it's me" in a bad way, even though all of my Goodreads friends LOVE the book. It's just... not my cuppa.
