My daughter read this for school and recommended it to me. Now I recommend it to everyone! I am a better person for having read it!

The author is from the US. She is asked to work on a project in Australia. Soon after she arrives, she is invited by an aboriginal tribe to what she thinks is a lunch. It turns out to be a 3-4 month walkabout into the Outback. This book is fictionalized, but based on her real experiences.

This book is about what she learned from this group and to put out the message they want her to share. She is very careful to be very respectful of their culture and ways. I found much to think about and try to apply in my own life. I wanted to underline parts, so I bought the book. I'd be happy to pass it around after my mom reads it. I found it at Barnes and Noble in soft bound for $13.

BTW, the Barnes and Noble in Bountiful had a bin of hardbound books for $2.
