The first real alternate timeline novel from the JJ Trekverse.

I guess in this book they've already had first contact with the Ferengi. Heck, they're talking about the Trade Commission so they've known them for some time.

It's slow going. Good but definitely has a different flavor.

Michael I don't necessarily think this is from the J.J. Abrams reboot.

If it was, we'd have Greenwood and Quinto on the cover instead of Hunter and Nimoy.

Secondly, reading the book it feels more like original canon than the reboot canon.

Bernard Doddema Jr The author even mentions that it's from the reboot and the only reason that he has the "original" Hunter was because that's just who he envisions instead of Greenwood.
