Syren (Septimus Heap, #5)

I dearly love this series and am not sure how this one slipped past me when it first came out, but eagerly snatched it off the shelf when I happened by! One of the joys is the illustrations, so this is not a book I care to get on Kindle. Plus, I have a strange happiness that this book is more of a square shape than a book-shaped book. Not sure why that is, but there you go.
The story brings back all the favorite characters, ties up loose ends from the last book, and introduces some interesting new folks. It's funny, smart, and I loved it -- never mind that it's classified as young adult lit and I'm 41.
