Hillamonster I wish I hadn't read this book already because I want to experience it again. Thankfully, the second book is just as good and the final book is coming out this summer!

Kristi postapocalyptic YA fiction is about as appealing to me as a root canal. no thank you. kristi

Caroline Niziol Glad you liked it! It's one of the best YA novels to come out in a while. Catching Fire was also brilliant.

Vi Elsey I totally agree. Have read both this and Catching Fire; can't wait for the 3rd one and I'm not exactly a YA!

message 5: by Kyla (new)

Kyla Mora All three books in the series are brilliant. Collins' genius lies in her determination to be loyal to character growth, and to not fall to the temptation to protect her characters. Everyone comes away with scars, not just in conveniently cool-looking places. But the series is addictive, thought provoking, and fascinating.

Renee Nicely said, Laurie! I am normally not a big fan of gritty, but this trilogy has really drawn me in.
