"The Hand That First Held Mine" by Maggie O'Farrell was captivating from the the first page to the last.

In this novel, we read about the lives of two unrelated women who never meet, though they both have something in common. Lexie Sinclair is a journalist in the 50s and 60s, working first with the love her her life, Innes, at a magazine called 'Elsewhere'. Elina is a modern-day new mom, an artist recovering from problems she encountered in childbirth. Each chapter gives clues to a very big secret that changes both of their lives.

I highly recommend this book. Maggie O'Farrell's prose is absolutely intoxicating and addictive.
