I really liked this, as I have all the Carson I've read, but somehow I'm always expecting her to write the thing that I'll love and force upon everyone I know. I'm not sure why. Her work really excites me. I love the experimentation, structural play, genre-bending, and willingness to be strange--to me that's where her real genius lies, more so than in the ideas, language, and ancient Greek, which I like fine but they don't seem to live up to the intellectual cache she receives for them. Why do I expect more from her? This was really, really good and that should be enough.
