bookshelves: could-not-put-it-down-books, read-more-than-once, love-the-audio
Read from June 09 to 10, 2009 — I own a copy , read count: 3

I'm just a sucker for anything Jace and Clary and this is a favorite scene in the series.

Merged review:

I have read this book three times now and have the audio CD ordered (Because the City of Bones one is so awesome) This series is the BEST YA series I have read!

As I put on my review of City of Bones, I bought these books the week I was leaving for TwiCon last year and I had no time to start books. I read them in the three days I was running around like crazy to get ready to go. I absolutely HAD to finish them. I loved City of Ashes with the incredible characters and story that now had the magician Mangus added and a breathtaking description of Clary, Jace, Simon, and Isobel going down into the lake to the Seelie Queen's court. The segment there about the KISS was just so tense to read and such torture for Simon who is an amazing character himself. The love triangle in this book is like no other I have read. The werewolf segments are great - the whole book is wonderful. This is one of my four favorite series ever and Jace is my #1 favorite character. I am not sure why other than he is beautiful, dangerous, tortured, loyal and admittedly cocky and at times a jerk. These books have some unforgettable lines in them, most of them spoken by Jace. A lot of the relationships between the main characters are developed in this book as well as the bonds between them.
