It is so much better to read books in order! I started reading this one a couple months ago and then realized it actually came after Archangel, so I stopped and read that one first. When I returned to this one afterwards, it made so much more sense!
I don't know how Sharon Shinn does it, but her characters always seem to slowly, subtly grow and evolve over the course of the novel. Angel-Seeker follows the story of 2 women and an angel. One woman is an "angel-seeker"--someone whose life isn't that great and who tries to improve it by giving birth to an angel baby (most births are human). The other is a young Jansai woman, living much like Afghani women under Taliban rule, who saves the life of the angel Obadiah when he's shot down over the desert. I don't think I can manage to articulate the rest of the plot without going into WAY too much detail, so just take my word for it and read this series. :)
