Little Lord Fauntleroy
by Frances Hodgson Burnett
by Frances Hodgson Burnett
I liked this and would read it to my kids. It has a gentle message about the positive effect a good person can have on others. That said, it was a little wearying to read repeated praises of the main character, who apparently, at 7-years-old, could do not wrong, was beautiful, witty, smart, generous, and loving to all. Too good, is how I would call it. I love my kids and think they're charming and wonderful, but they have their faults like anyone; I have a hard time (as a parent) believing in an absolutely perfect child.
