Excellent story about real people! This has always been one of my favorite books. It is interesting to read books through different seasons of my life and see what I pick up as I do. The Woodlawn family (really the Woodhouse family; Caddie is the grandmother of the author) lives in frontier Wisconsin during the Civil War. This book chronicles tomboy Caddie's adventures and life during this time, and the things she experienced and learned, as well as the experiences of her family. They learned faith and to treat the Native Americans with respect in a time when so many were afraid of them. If you love Little House, you'll love this book.
