Write What You See is a compilation of photos, corresponding quotes, writing prompts and possible key words.
Writing prompts per se aren't my thing, however, using this book in other ways would be my way to go. Some of the photos are quite interesting. Using the CD of the photos from the book (included in the back of the book) could add a different layer to writing instruction for children who are increasingly becoming visual learners (thanks, in large part, to electronics). Many of the quotes themselves would make wonderful classroom discussion and provide a jumping off point for writing. The prompts? I don't see me using them.
