Oh man. I grew up reading these. Facts gleaned from Asterix still probably constitute the majority of my admittedly scant knowledge of European geography and history. Vitalstatistix! Cacophonix! Whoever did the translations was a genius.

Ken-ichi Yeah, I should really go buy some. They always make me want to eat boar, though.

Elizabeth I read all these too! We also liked to rent the videos from the local Tower Records. That and Lucky Luke.

Ken-ichi Asterix and Obelix running through that building trying to get forms filled out in The Twelve Tasks of Asterix comes to my mind a lot. Usually while dealing with federal agencies, the University of California, or my own shoddy code.
