these are demented little stories that mostly feature celebrities (Sharon Stone, Jimmy Carter, Noam Chomsky, Madonna, etc.) and animals. They are very sharp, perversely funny, tender and very tight. My only criticism might be that they are too tight...Millet is almost too good of a writer to really appreciate how good the writing is. It reminded me a little of what Katharine Hepburn said, disparaging a young Meryl Streep, that you can see the wheels turning in her head. But I'll definitely check out her novels!
