Vicky Bliss is my favorite herione of Elizabeth Peter's. It took me a while before I agreed to read this because of my irrational hatred of another character of her's, Amelia Peabody. I love the quick pace of this series and the underlying humor.

Lisa Greer I so agree with you!! I love all her Michaels' books and some of her Peters' works, but I HATE Amelia Peabody ones, too. It's like they are too long and full of fluff or something... I don't know what it is. But I really LOVE the Vicky Bliss character. This is only the second one I've read, and she's much more appealing than Peabody or Jacqueline Kirby , for that matter.

Tamsen This is my first comment. How exciting. Thanks for driving me back to this great site. I think Amelia Peabody is a vanilla character. Maybe part of the reason I can't relate is that she seems settled in her life. Settled in who she is and where she is going. Whereas Vicky Bliss has that chaotic feeling, don't know where I'm going or where I've been, that a real person has.
