I had to read Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead for a school project. We were given a list of novels that we would have to choose from to do our final on. I instantly recognized the characters Rosencrantz and Guildenstern from the Shakespearean play Hamlet that we read earlier in the year. So my buddy and I figured it would be fun to read more about the two characters from Hamlet. I am so happy that we decided to, Rosencrantz and Gulidenstern Are Dead was one of the most enjoyable plays that I have ever read. Guildenstern's intellectual knowledge and Rosencrantz's sense of humor made for a comical play. In this story, Hamlet is basically being retold but by the minor characters of Rosencratz and Guildenstern. Tom Stoppard's twist to the story is very humorous at times but it also takes a look at the things that are happening through the world by physchology. I would recommended this book to anyone who has read Shakespeare's Hamlet and is looking to get a good laugh out of the plot. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern bring an incredible new view on the story line of Hamlet that is very entertaining. That is my review on Tom Stoppard's amazing play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead.
