The continuation of the Greg Mortenson saga! More success, despite the constant problems including the Oct. 8, 2005 Pakistani earthquake. Highly emphasized is the attention given to the Pakistanis and Afghanistan locals, whose great energies have made the building of 171 schools, many of them for girls, a success. Also interesting was the emphasis given on building schools in extremely hard to reach mountain valleys rather than heavily populated city centers. Finally, Greg Mortenson reaches his physical limits and has to scale back his continual energetic activities. Strangely enough he first begins to fall apart under the strain of continual speaking engagements in the U.S.A. Later he does succumb to illness high in the mountains of Afghanistan and has to give up the visiting of the furthest out of reach school built by his organization, the Central Asia Institute. Still the saga of Greg Mortenson remains unblemished and a fantastic example of how working with locals in need is the way to achieve success.
