This is just fun light reading. It's really interesting and also extremely sad that such incompetent people ruled entire empires or countries. I guess that's why they're call the Dark Ages, well at least for those few centuries in the middle. I skipped the chapters on the popes because that was extra disturbing to me and maybe another chapter near the end, but otherwise, I enjoyed it. A good pick for when you're traveling I thought.
