This clever short story from Anne Brooke introduces us to Liam, who was dumped the previous night by his 'connected' boyfriend Brandon. Since Liam made a ruckus (and threatened to tell all he knows to the police), he knows the Delaney brothers, heads of the local gangster scene, will be by to punish him. He can only hope to escape alive.
This clever short story from Anne Brooke introduces us to Liam, who was dumped the previous night by his 'connected' boyfriend Brandon. Since Liam made a ruckus (and threatened to tell all he knows to the police), he knows the Delaney brothers, heads of the local gangster scene, will be by to punish him. He can only hope to escape alive.
As it turns out, the Delaney brothers offer him a choice ~ they'll shoot his balls off or he can have no-holds-barred sex with them for a night. Liam chooses the sex. And, much to his surprise, he finds himself embarked on an explicitly erotic evening that was not at all what he feared. Maybe it's not a fate worse than death after all.
I loved the tongue-in-cheek humor with which Anne Brooke drew these characters, and I loved the unusual storyline. Sometimes you feel like you've read a book before with different names for the protagonists, but not here. Brooke keeps us wondering what will become of Liam until the very last page.
I highly recommend this quick fun read.
