it was ok
bookshelves: partially-finished
Read from April 26 to May 11, 2010

I didn't finish the book (it was overdue), but read about 3/4ths of it while sitting at Starbucks one afternoon. The author lives in New York and was an editor at a women's magazine when she was laid off in 2008 as a result of the recession. The book is about how she deals with this and relates her experiences with the hard times her parents and grandparents went through at various times in their lives. She includes several recipes in very short chapters that read quickly. I enjoyed the stories about her relatives, but I felt the book was almost too short and not fleshed out enough. If I get the chance to finish it I may update this review.
