** spoiler alert ** I'm sorry to say that this book is nothing that I was hopng for/expected.I am a nursing student with a project that to profile a patient. My patient did not speak but has seizures. I thought since Ms. Hustvedt had seizures but was swwtill able to speak, she would be able to express some of the thoughts, emotions and feelings that my patient was unable to communicate. But this did not really help me to understand my patient anymore than I already did. I think Hustvedt was trying to search for her own answers and for some reason her publisher thought that meant something worthy to publish. My favorite part of the book was whe nshe spoke about using the phase "I remember...." when trying to get stimulate patients to discuss their feelings. I found this to be a truth that I too will use in the future with my patients.
