I quite agree with you. Harmless fantasy. Of course if you found out that Steele's real name was Bobby Ray Doggins and he was a wife-beater from Tuscalosa, Alabama, would you feel the same way?

Joyce hasn't written a darn thing worth reading since "Trees." I don't know how he got in the army with a name like Joyce anyway.
