A Finnish story, just a bit different. It is the story of a woman's life, set to her obsessions. She and her husband are obsessed with stuffed birds. They even hire someone to take them outside, air them out, and dust the feathers. She begins to put her hopes and dreams into the birds because she doesn't have friends, or real family members. She does have a maid, who is her confidante and her assistant in her shenigans with her in-laws. The book was set in a different time, when family status and the neighbors' opinions of you meant quite a bit.
