		<user_review><![CDATA[I read this for my St. Mary's Book Club and it was a fun discussion. At first I found it a little too sappy and homey but I kept reading and before I knew it, I was hooked and couldn't wait to find out what would happen to sweet ol' Elnor next! It is not as deep (nor profound) as Fannie Flagg's Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe but just a very fun and cozy read. Probably best suited for the over 40 crowd. ]]></user_review>

		<user_review><![CDATA[Wow. I will never think of Afghanistan the same way after reading this bittersweet saga of what it is like to be a woman living there. The Kite Runner, also by Hosseini, tells the story from a male perspective but this one is from the women's point of view. I don't think it's possible to read this book without shedding tears for them. The theme is universal and the story could take place in any country where there is a regime of terror and basic human rights have been taken away. ]]></user_review>
