A friend recommended this book to me a long time before this addition came out. His description was that it's about "A hobo/criminal with high morals" had stuck in my mind but i had given up finding it. Then the Black's name reappeared while reading Gentleman Junkie which reignited my interest. How nice it was to find this edition with Burroughs' acknowlegement of its impact on his imagination.

History of horror theater upon whose shoulders all modern horror/gore films stand. Wonder what would happen if modern checkout counter rags like The Star or The National Enquirer were the source of material for stage plays (well is guess they kinda are since every headline will be made into a docu-drama).

Amazing project shows how the development of optics parallels the depiction of perspective in painting. Also contains some inteesting conjecture(?) on how the paintings were accomplished. This book adds to, rather that takes away from the beauty of the Masters.

Insight into the persona of Henry Rollins as frontman of 'Flag during hardcore's golden years. Rollins' transformation from nylon running short-clad thickneck to articulate cultural commentator is possibly on par with George Foreman going from Heavyweight contendor to huggable late-night TV grilling king.

Before the age of the DVD, the Criterion Collection, etc. this was the only tome i knew of that cared about those lost, trashy films and their makers. Still an important document of who/what/when and first person interviews.
