		<user_review><![CDATA[I watched 300 with a bunch of guys.  Some of them took their shirts off during the movie.  Yes, it was awkward, but appropriate for such a ridiculous and really fun movie.  I had to know more about this battle.  A friend recomended Gates of Fire and it was a really great read. Made me thankful for living in our current day and having to battle maraurding hordes.  I think I'm hooked on historical fiction.  <br/><br/>]]></user_review>

		<user_review><![CDATA[I received this book from Craig months ago.  I tried to read Atonement several times.  I read 2 or 3 pages and just couldn't keep up with it.  I tried again last week and I finally shifted into his writing.  It reminded me of reading Gilead by Marilynne Robinson; I had to change my mode of thinking to fit the prose. <br/><br/>The story is amazing, I felt like I was punched in the belly at certain turning points in the story.  I am still a bit dazed with the ending. <br/><br/> ]]></user_review>

		<user_review><![CDATA[read a couple of steinke's novels. disturbing, i have always thought they were good but i have wondered more about her.  she clearly was interested in christianity, seemed like she had some bad experiences as a christian.  she also edited a volume with rick moody called the new testment where authors talked about a book of the bible.  she does have a mixed history with christianity.  so great to hear her talking about her life, i liked her memoir quite a bit.]]></user_review>

		<user_review><![CDATA[i really like lethem and i love the title.  i end alot of my sentences with &quot;yet.&quot;  i read it in an afternoon holding my 3 year old who had a really high fever.  poor thing.  she is healed.  i didn't put it down b.c. there were no other books near me.  i didn't feel an affection towards any of the charecters.  the new band theme was cool but it wasn't a great read, for me anyway. i still love that lethem, yet.  ]]></user_review>
