Whoa! I couldn't put it down. Great history piece, I knew the history of King Henry and his wives but whoa! the plotting and sex and intrigue. I couldn't believe it. The author did a great job I letting the reader really get to know the characters and hint at the secret inner circle that brought everyone down.

This is suppose to be a love story...and though I see where that comes from I really think it is a story about that has an almost stalkerish love for a women and follows her around for her entire life. I really don't recommend the book.

I listened to the book rather then read it, but had it connected to my ears continuously. Though the reader had some major pronunciations problems. I think it would be an intriguing book to read as well as listen too.

I recommend this book to anyone looking for a mix of science, adventure and cultural differences.]]>

Loved it! I may be a little bias, but this book has sparked a fire to go back to Africa and giving me ideas about leading a dual life, here and there. This book follows a family around Africa during the 60's and 70's as they study termites and ants, but I promise this is not a lot of boring science involved.

Oh so much better then that Chris O'donnell (sp?) movie. Quite a bit of history from time to time, but overall a great read. A classic that is also a page turner. I really recommend it

I love this story. Victor Hugo gets a little side tracked in the history from time to time, so the abridged version may suit you better if you're not into the history. Overall a great story, and the book is better then the musical; the movie is comparable.

The book starts our REALLY SLOW but the information is necessary to understanding the events that follow. Though the story was medicore to me I did enjoy the ending. I thought the twist was incredibly sad but sweet. For once, I thought the movie version was right now. Therefore you can forgo the book and see the movie.
