I was so captivated by this book about a diary, I didn't move from the bathroom floor until I finished it this morning at 4:45am. I must own this book! I truly loved it and I have sooo many questions for the author. I need some answers. When I reached the final page, I was devastated... how could it end when there was so much more to learn? This happened to me when I read Orphan Train too.... I was not ready to leave the inhabitants of Bainbridge, Washington. A very real place, which has been added to my bucket list. The mystery between the pages and Emily's life was headed towards similar patterns... could the cycle be replaced, would Emily's past heal her current wounds and would the past forgive it's transgressions? To say anything more would give it away, a must read. I shed a few tears and fell in love with several of the characters. Aunt Bee and Evelyn at the top. So many hearts and lives were transformed one foggy night, to endure such pain and never be with your one true love... This is a title to be re-read for nostalgia on cold winter's day wrapped in a blank or as a beach toting title... either way, long after the last page is read, the story will stay in your heart forever. ...more

An Academy winning short film for all ages to enjoy filled with love for books and the words inside the books. Watch the film and then check out the book to capture the beauty of reading. Read it out loud to someone! Simply the best place to be.... A title to share with the very young to teach them that reading is an art form and the library is the best place to meet friends. While watching this short film, I remembered another movie that I love. The Pagemaster, A classic adventure of a boy who finds his way inside a library with Adventure, Fantasy and Horror as his guides. All sorts of things go wrong when they discover many stories in the corridors while searching for the exit sign, including Moby Dick, Treasure Island with pirates to the Lilliputains in Gulliver's Travels, then dragons and bean stalks. This new title is a lovely addition to the world of reading and the love we all feel for the words we read. ...more

Victoria discovers there are people in her world that matter and that she matters to them. She will ask to be forgiven and forgiveness will be granted, but each day will be her window to embrace this whole new life. This story had a very calming effect on my soul, normally reading is a great way to unwind, but this book went one step more... The side story of the language of flowers had me in its grasp. I had no idea flowers represented words and there are many books out there with this information. Thanks Vanessa, for teaching me something new! A book for for the older teen as well as adult men and women to enjoy!...more

Cody didn't disappoint and Smoky's team was fab! Another unbalanced soul who was hell bent on ruining others just because. My head was all over the place with this one trying to figure out who it was and why they knew so much information. I would have loved to hear more of the background and how the perp was so knowledgeable about computers and tracking people. Makes me re-think about hackers....more

The killer was insane no doubt about it and religion was the motive for the killing.
"Stuck in the side," Alan offers. "Stuck in the right side," James corrects. "From a religious perspective, that's relevant." I stare at him in sudden understanding. I wonder why I hadn't thought of it myself. "The lance, Longinus," I say. "Very good," James replies. "Sorry," Callie says, "But you've lost me. Can you explain it for the heathens in the room?"
I knew about the right side, but heck this heathen didn't know the name of the man who stuck Jesus.....
"Longinus was the Roman soldier who pierced Christ's side with a lance to make sure he was dead," James explains.
This killer is collecting sins and releasing the souls back to Heaven because they have repented for an un truth they kept to themselves.
Everyone has a secret, but how did the killer know the victims secrets?
I don't attend church as I don't believe four walls and a roof make the Christian that I am, but I dig reading books with religion in them and especially if a priest or rabbi is involved with the discussion. I love watching the History Channel on any religious topics. Fascinates me and I guess because the Bible is the oldest story telling book out there. :o) I know there are other scrolls that tell the tales, but this is a book of infinite history and people. Even our own military has used this book to recreate battles in war.
Back to the insane perp: "I have spent my life building up to this moment, preparing for this reveal. I haven't done this for myself. I haven't done this because I enjoy killing." Certifiable nut job.... oh yeah...
The scary thing is the notion that this man used the internet to show his videos of their deaths. Made them confess on film/video. I was torn for the victims and felt their pain, but I was shook to the core when one victim was chosen and why.... I questioned myself and thought maybe this religion nut wasn't so wrong with this one....
"I have spent two decades killing, not for the thrill of it, but so I could arrive here and now and share with you the truth of what I have seen. I select my sacrifices carefully, as you will see. Each had a secret, a darkness, something they could not reveal. All now sit at the right hand of God and enjoy the wonders of heaven. In the end, they gave their lives so that you could understand. Not willing martyrs, but martyrs nonetheless."
I love this author and this series, this is the best book in the series and I hope someday soon Mr. Cody McFadyen writes book 5 cause I will have withdrawals once I read book 4. This series is a must have for my bookshelves. ...more

Fell in love with the characters and I can't wait to read the rest of this series. Zoe Rocks! I didn't expect to be so emotionally involved with her characters. Shocking, tough subject matters and a realism that we don't know... what really goes on behind doors of even our own friends. I'm so glad I didn't start with the American's first book of the series. Meeting Zoe was amazing at the Mayhem mystery event in Omaha and seeing her in action before I read her first book gave me a visual of her tough character within the pages. Thanks for showing us how to defend ourselves and double thanks for continuing to write your series. Hope I get caught up this year, since I now have all except maybe a new one just out. ;o) My number one female author from the UK!!!...more
