Of course, it is an EXTREMELY old book, but it's good. Personally, it's good break from modern fantasies, if you're a deep fantasy reader, and plot is highly unique than the usual "Hero-goes-off-and-saves-from-end-of-world"
The Hobbit takes a bit of time to get your mind into the story, but it is a beautiful work of art when you get into it. Dragons. Dwarves. But not that big gigantic wars that you find in LotR movies, but suddenly from the Hobbit, everything is much smaller. And suddenly you get a good view of dwarves and little monsters off the battlefield and at home.
It's... a peaceful, yet a exciting taste of a world from a completely different universe.

In general, I read this book after finding one my female classmates copying the name, "Edward Cullen" over and over again in one of her notebooks, saying that she was "lovesick". Feeling quite strange, I discovered Edward Cullen was one of the vampiric protaganists in Twilight.
Overall, Twilight is a vampire/romance novel. If you like romances, its a good book for you. If you abhor romances of any sort, even if you like vampires... you're not going to like this book at all...
Though I hear, if this genre appeals to you, this might turn out as one of your absolute favorite books; though, I would hope you were not to turn into a lovesick zombie staring at a character in a book...
Twilight has a boring first few chapters, so be forewarned. Though, the pace picks up a little, and there isn't that much action at all. Really, there isn't much that is memorable, but the concept is quite magnetic
Just for an idea, Twilight is the type of book that: eg. the girl walks into new school and stares at strange good-looking boy and talks about drama stuff... Kid that got run over by car in parking lot... ect ect...
Towards the end, it turns into: eg. the girl and boy runs away from vampire or else they get eaten. Breaking windows so forth......more
