It's got a sweet innocence to it, despite the serious issues it deals with toward the end. Watching these characters grow up and face their challenges is a special, heartfelt journey. The summers are told from dual point of views, which was very well done. Another lovely romance from Nyrae. :) (less)

I don't want to say anything about my feelings on the ending, because I don't want any spoilers, but WOW. I really loved our strong MC, Wick (called Wicked by Griff, which I think is super cute, as is Griff). This is a suspenseful page-turner that'll keep you up dying to know who the bad guy is!!!(less)

It has those same witty, funny elements that I'd come to love from this author, but added a level of in-depth emotion that had me crying at the end, in the best possible way and feeling ALL the feelings. I'm a huge fan of book bad boys, as you all know, but Cade is the ultimate good guy. We have a good boy and a seemingly bad girl. It's a delicious turning of the tables. And don't get me started about the steamy scenes!!!! I loved Cade in Losing it, but I fell hard for him in Faking It. Not to mention I totally have a girl crush on Max. She rocks.

It's funny because there seem to be a ton of well known contemporary YA/NA/adult Indie/Self-pub stories out right now, but not many YA paranormal (that I'm aware). This is fantastic, and so unique. I love the voices Jolene creates. If you haven't read Insight yet, I highly recommend it, and you're going to want to read Manipulation right afterward. Highly enjoyable. :-)(less)

It's so unique. Victoria Scott has taken all of the normal YA conventions and thrown them out the window. First of all, Dante isn't just your run-of-the-mill YA bad boy...he's a villain. A REAL villain, who you often won't like in the beginning. But at the same time, you can't take your eyes off him because he's hot, witty, and just fascinating. And all the while you'll be thinking, "I can't wait to see this boy's world get rocked." It's a sweet journey watching his eyes slowly pried open. LOVED it. And Charlie? Sweet Charlie? There has never been a character like her. I love her so hard.
You guys are going to love it. Can't wait for it to hit the shelves next year! Get ready to laugh, swoon, and be taken on a mystery ride. Victoria Scott is an author to keep your eye on.(less)

That was the most incredible pararomance I've read in a long time. What a wild ride! And now I'm wishing I would have waited until close to the 2nd book's release to read it because I want to still be in this story world seeing what will happen next! I love how we got to see Evie's world before the Apocalypse and after. I just really can't gush enough, and I can't find anything to complain about with this story. It was right down my alley and exactly what I needed. But I'll warn you - if you don't like alpha male love interests, this might not be a story for you.(less)

This will be my first published contemporary/realistic YA fiction! When HarperTeen bought my 2nd and 3rd books, they also asked if I could write a novella for their new Impulse line of ebooks. It was perfect timing because I'd actually been thinking about revisiting a short story I wrote for a college class. So I pulled out that story, dusted it off, and had a blast expanding it into a novella. The original title was TOYS since everyone seems to be toying with each other and Ryan drives a "toy box." :) It's a very different style from my Sweet books...be warned. It's written in 3rd person point of view, and is mostly from Ryan, the boy's, perspective. But not to worry. . . THERE'S KISSING. <3
Now, remember...I was asked to write a novella, not a novel, so please don't hate me because it's too short, lol. My hands were tied regarding the length. That being said, this piece was really rushed through edits, and probably DOES need a bit more. So I've written an epilogue which takes place 2 years after the story ends, and it's posted on my blog under "Extras" http://www.wendyhigginswrites.com/p/e...
And lastly, as a bonus, the prologue and first chapter of Sweet Peril will be included. SWEET.(less)

It's bittersweet to complete my trilogy, but I'm so excited to share this journey with you! You have no idea how much each and every kind word via email/goodreads/twitter/facebook has pushed me to keep going. Your excitement is fuel for a writer's fire. Thank you. <3 I hope to have a blurb by this summer (once the final story is accepted by my editor). :)
PS...I freaking love Kaidan. And Kopano. And Blake. And Jay. I want Anna to be besties with the 16/17/18-year-old me. And I want to link arms with Anna, Marna, Ginger, and Zania and skip together. Lame? Okay, fine, but it's the truth. I adore them that much.(less)
